iPhone App Site Design Trends

E-mail Εκτύπωση PDF

One-Page Format

Almost every app sites are designed in a one-page format with a short descriptive paragraph and a feature list. The writing style is usually simple and straight to the point.

iPhone Image

You probably notice that all app sites use the iPhone image (with either drop shadow or reflection) as their main design element.

Apple App Store Badge

Most app sites prefer to use the App Store badge as the download button. The badge directs the visitors to download the app at the App Store.

Animated Screenshots

All app sites display their app screenshots on the iPhone. Some sites enhance the user experience by displaying automatic slideshow or animation that shows exactly how the app works. With the animation demo, visitors can quickly find out what the app is all about without reading the text. It also makes the site look more entertaining.

Display Pricing

Not all app sites are displaying their price tag, which I think they all should do. It is frustrating when you want to buy something but can't find the price. Below are some good examples of websites that display the pricing for the app. I find the best spot to place the price tag is by the download badge or the app screenshot.

Important: Identity Guidelines for Developers

If you are planning to use the Apple App Store badge or iPhone image. Apple reserves the right to withdraw permission to use the badge or iPhone image if you fail to follow the guidelines.
